IARC/WHO and ARICE expert was presented at the 14th AORTIC conference in Dakar

Professor Zisis Kozlakidis, Head of Laboratory Services and Biobanking at the International Agency for Research on Cancer/World Health Organization (IARC/WHO), and ARICE leading expert; participated at the 14th AORTIC (African Organization for Research and Training in Cancer) conference in Dakar, Senegal, from 2 to 6 November 2023.

The theme was on “Implementation, Workforce and Opportunities”, with many inspirational speakers and experiences shared.

"With the support of the Center for Global Health (CGH) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Biobank and Cohort Building Network (BCNet), I was presented in two sessions: "Clinical trials, pathology and biobanking" and "Telemedicine and digital health applications on cancer research and care", Professor Kozlakidis told.

The AORTIC International Conference on Cancer in Africa brings together multidisciplinary specialists from the global cancer community to reduce the impact of cancer in Africa.

The African Organization for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC) is an Africa-based organization with members throughout Africa and the international cancer community. Its objectives are to support, integrate, and facilitate evidence-based interventions and innovative programs towards the prevention and control of cancer in Africa.
